This is my oldest, Katie. She is having her first baby. A little boy. Together we worked on her shower so she also has photos on her blog, Old Burlap & Lace. I know that parties can get expensive and sometimes break the budget. We tried to find ways to be creative, have fun and still maintain a budget. With the help of pinterest and our heads here is what we did.
One of the games we played was to guess the flavor of baby food.
We found the stickers at Hobby Lobby and the taste spoons.
We printed off answer sheets and pasted them to scrapbook paper.
For the refreshments we made use of what we had. I had the canning jars,
so we tied raffia around the lip. We added name tags purchased at Hobby Lobby.
The straws added color and fun, bought at JoAnns.
To cover the table we used a washed drop cloth from Lowes then added
a runner made of burlap from Hobby Lobby.
For the drink dispensers I had one from her wedding and the other I found at
Costco. I used my plant stand for added height.
For refreshments we made our own sandwiches and we used our cake plates.
We made the cupcakes and I must say they were the best ever. We used
a box mix but found a yummy recipe for icing, I will post the link.
The little animal toothpicks we found at TJ Maxx on clearance.
We did find that the cupcake liners do not show up and made
the cupcakes small. We found that using the plain brown ones were better.
She had the cupcake holder and made the little banner.
It really helped that we already had all the serving ware.
The puff balls in the background we made from tissue paper, they are cheap
and add a nice touch.
For prizes we bought room fragrances at Bath and Body Works.
Another game we played was remember what is in the diaper bag.
